Pam Rocks: Howe Sound

Pam Rocks: Howe Sound

Sometimes a small change can make a huge difference. In Howe Sound, the Squamish Streamkeepers started wrapping creosote-coated pilings with plastic mesh. This small action means herring eggs, which were previously being poisoned by the creosote, are now surviving. Flourishing herring stocks attract other wildlife, such as dolphins and whales. Howe Sound is home to many marine wonders, including Giant Plumose Anemone, attracting scuba divers from around the world.
